Alice Herbert is an emerging conceptual artist in the Northern California Bay Area. She was born in Brooklyn and primarily grew up in Santa Cruz, California, with short stints in Paris, France, and San Francisco. She attended Waldorf schools in Paris, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco before dropping out in 6th grade to ‘homeschool,’ during that time, she learned archery, beekeeping, mushroom foraging, and metalsmithing. She reentered ‘formal education’ through the Mountain Buddhist school Mount Madonna, followed by public high school briefly, before she dropped out to receive her GED, followed by community college, Reed College, travel, work, and covid before she received her BA in Art Studio from the University of California at Davis. 

These days, her practice is multifaceted and includes both studio work and curation. Her studio practice concerns itself with the hidden and unknown.
